Why Refer to Care Dental
Care Dental Implant Clinic Referral Clinic
Our Aim is to work hand in hand with you to deliver success to your patients, whilst working in partnership with you to service and promote your practice.
Care Dental Implant Clinic offers care on a referral basis to complement the skills of general dental practitioners from across Scotland. Our special areas of focus are in the fields of Implantology. Located in Crieff, Perthshire, we are within 90 minutes drive from 90% of the population of Scotland.
Dental implant treatment is a rewarding field for any dentist to practice in. The advances in dental implantology over the last few years have simplified a once complex discipline so that the prosthetic procedure is now well within the capabilities of any GP confident with normal crown and bridge work. Our overall service is to enable you to integrate Implantology within your whole practice.
Our clinic has undergone a major extension and refurbishment in 2008 to facilitate our expanding referral centre and is exceptionally well equipped with an OPT and CT scanner and operating microscope.
The overall experience:
- Is a patient bowled over by the quality and comprehensiveness of the end result!
- Clinical development and enjoyable team work.
“Working together, providing a referral service to enhance your treatment portfolio”
Unlike most implant clinics, we have our own in-house dental laboratory. It is staffed by two very experienced technicians and fully equipped with the most advanced digital laboratory equipment and system available – Zirkonzahn. The combination of this cutting-edge technology and our experienced team allows us to create and craft implant crowns and bridges into beautiful, natural-looking teeth.
For you, the patient, this means that the dental technician is an integral part of your clinical team. They ensure that the colour and contour of your crown and bridgework looks perfectly natural next to your existing teeth. It also means that any complications can be dealt with as you wait, instead of unnecessary delays caused by sending work back to external laboratories. For the dentist it provides a seamless relationship, overcoming normal remote communication problems and enabling integrated teamwork to produce beautiful smiles and exceptional fit.
The Zirkonzahn technology we have installed in the laboratory digitally designs your crowns and bridges to ensure perfection in terms of both aesthetic and fit. Once your teeth have been designed they are sent to the 5+1 axis computer milling machine, which drills your new crowns out of Zirchonia. They are then coloured by hand to ensure the shades and fissure contours are a perfect match to your natural teeth before being placed within the sintering furnace for glazing.
The new Prettau and Zirchonia materials have superseded the usage of porcelain which most labs still use. Porcelain is layered to create a crown but often chips and cracks under force. Zirchonia on the other hand is a single block of material and is impossible to break!
We are very proud of being at the forefront of technology and having a digital laboratory on-site, so you will probably find yourself being shown around it at some point!
“What are the options for this patient?” is often the question by which we are perplexed. Our greatest success in our referral service is in formulating patient treatment plans. With our digital OPT, CT scanner, technicians, referral clinicians and our dedicated patient consultation room we explore the patient’s options and develop this into a fully explained, consented and signed treatment plan. As a result, the uptake of treatment plans is very high. We offer you a complete service from treatment planning right through to the delivery of cases for those dentists who wish to refer for the entire treatment.
Alternatively, as a referral centre for practices across Scotland, we offer you a blended learning approach to partnering with you. This includes study days and evenings, mentoring/practical assistance and e-learning tools, right through to bespoke training for your whole practice. Our aim is to develop those referring practices that wish to get involved in our coaching and mentoring programmes.
Our facilities can be made available for referring dentists to use, either within assisted practical mentoring or when working alongside our technicians or sedationist.
Through our training and mentoring programme we will accredit, equip, encourage and support you in all phases of the restoration process. Our technicians will be on hand to help you throughout your learning and development. The exact details of this programme are available within our terms and conditions, which are available on request.
